500,000 BY END OF NEXT WEEK!

First of all, if you work in PR and CSR and are good at it, hats off! You guys are the strongest I know!

So already you know it’s been crazy by just that line. 3 full office days are no joke! Especially if you really are not in an office. Over the last 3 days, we have made some serious headway with regards to the entire project and the outlook. And it still looks like a lot needs to be done.

First, I wish to thank technology. Mobile phones and internet have been my best friends. Last Tuesday evening I sent out about 50 emails. About 35 were very good responses. I do not think I could have walked all those places even if I had a car.

Among them included Kenya Airways, Consolidated Bank, Family Bank, Resolution Health, Essar Communication, Tintoria among many others. We have received media goodwill from Hope FM, and NTV, plus other interested stations. We know we have over 15 hours of live media guaranteed, and we will push for more.

Secondly, we have received individuals support from persons in different organizations. Churches and other stations have also helped us along the way! All Saints Cathedral allowed us to collect clothes from the church, which is also access to almost 10,000 Anglican faithful consistently for one month.

Next week we launch Operation L-Hang-ata, and we will be all over the media!

This is our target, that we will collect 500,000 clothes and shoes in donated items by the end of the week. We already have space at the Beacon of Hope Centre and we are also looking at major malls like the Junction for more space for the project.

Again, thank you all for the support!
