THIMBLE, THREAD, NEEDLES... ANYONE?

We need about 50 thimbles, 300 rolls of sewing thread and about 100 needles. These will be specially used to repair and redesign clothes for The Hanger Project! If you can hook us up with tape measure that would be even cooler?

We have a team of volunteer designers, and are still requesting more to volunteer, to redesign clothes from materials we have received for the project. Mostly for children’s clothes! Someone?

Contact Rose on 0725782227 or rose@thehangerproject.or.ke, or just in box us!

Thank you very much!

GOING LIVE IN 5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1 …

Finally, it’s time. Today we start our media campaign on going live on Hope 93.3 FM, at 4:00pm on route 104. So please, listen, in call, start packing and donate the stuff. Remember you can drop in your donations at Hope FM offices at Nairobi Pentecostal Church, Valley Road from now till end of 15th December.

A lot more development has come through. We had an awesome meeting at Postal Corporation and we are looking at a possible nationwide network working with Team Posta. The amazing thing is that it didn’t feel like Posta, but like a bank. Brigadier Ali’s team is really awesome.

We also got support from OMD Saracen Media who agreed to support us by mobilizing their staff team and supporting us. Johra Omar has been really cordial and supportive and we thank her and the entire team for the help.

Saracen is a creative agency, working out serious communication solutions that are bound to change how people look at and interact with your brand. They are also part of the larger PHD Global family, trading under www.phdeastafrica.com, a global media network that further seeks to redefine how media business and engagement is done. Frank and Team, good job, and thank you for the support!

Another nice guy, is Moha who decided to help by giving us heavy dity boxes for packaging and redistributing the stuff! He sell computers and accessories at Value Net Computers on Standard Street, Nairobi, and he has been really helpful!

Not to forget, Peris Nyarjusa who sent us KES 1,000.00 all the way from the states. May God continually bless her and everyone supporting us!

Thanks lovely people!

Regards,

Pau

500,000 BY END OF NEXT WEEK!

First of all, if you work in PR and CSR and are good at it, hats off! You guys are the strongest I know!

So already you know it’s been crazy by just that line. 3 full office days are no joke! Especially if you really are not in an office. Over the last 3 days, we have made some serious headway with regards to the entire project and the outlook. And it still looks like a lot needs to be done.

First, I wish to thank technology. Mobile phones and internet have been my best friends. Last Tuesday evening I sent out about 50 emails. About 35 were very good responses. I do not think I could have walked all those places even if I had a car.

Among them included Kenya Airways, Consolidated Bank, Family Bank, Resolution Health, Essar Communication, Tintoria among many others. We have received media goodwill from Hope FM, and NTV, plus other interested stations. We know we have over 15 hours of live media guaranteed, and we will push for more.

Secondly, we have received individuals support from persons in different organizations. Churches and other stations have also helped us along the way! All Saints Cathedral allowed us to collect clothes from the church, which is also access to almost 10,000 Anglican faithful consistently for one month.

Next week we launch Operation L-Hang-ata, and we will be all over the media!

This is our target, that we will collect 500,000 clothes and shoes in donated items by the end of the week. We already have space at the Beacon of Hope Centre and we are also looking at major malls like the Junction for more space for the project.

Again, thank you all for the support!

ALL SAINTS CATHEDRAL IS HANGING!

Yesterday we got a big boost in confirmation from the Provost of All Saints Cathedral, the Very Rev. Julius Wanyoike, that we can have the Church as a drop of point while the campaign continues. This is really good news since the proximity of the place to town is amazing, and the fact that we can constantly reach about 6,000 people every Sunday is an added plus! We believe we will be able to get the much needed support!

All Saints Cathedral is the Spiritual centre of over 6,000,000 confessing Anglicans in Kenya! It is also the seat of the Presiding Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya, currently being held by His Grace the Archbishop, Dr. Eliud Wabhukala! We are so excited! Check out their site on www.allsaintsnairobi.org and give a shout out!

Meanwhile we are also trying to secure other drop off points around the City! A major one will be Parklands Baptist Church and the Westgate shopping centre. You can already begin praying with us!

Thank you everyone!

CRUNCH TIME

It’s only 11:30 and the day looks super already! This week is going to be crazy at the least. We have clothes to collect, meetings to attend, sponsorships to raise and still deliver on some jobs for our client. Only Grace will sort us, only grace!

Updates?

We will be going live on Hope FM in the coming weeks. We trust that pushing it on radio will give us the much needed support. So tune in to the station where ‘You Listen and Live!’

Consolidated Bank, who were awarded at the last Marketing Society of Kenya Awards are also out to help us. Remind me to tell you the story of Consolidated Bank later today! But they will be doing collections for us from their staff within the bank. So we thank God!

Our Clothes Therapy Centre will be in Rongai where we will have a water bore hole and open spaces to do our cleaning without any hustle.

Our target this week, is to recruit volunteers and to bring in those donations.

Help please,

Pau!
