THANK YOU FROM US!

This year has been an amazing year for all of us, or most of us! It would be unfair to everyone, and God if we do not show gratitude!

And so, from the bottom of our hearts, Susan, G.T., Xiku and Pau want to thank all of you for your support. We are forever indebted for what you have been able to donate and help with.

Special mention goes to:
·         Vip Ogola: A mighty woman of God and a prayer warrior. She has prayed and encouraged us along the way.

·         Wendy Kimani: Your joining alone was really a surprise. But further your willingness to help and assist in everything is a key pointer… and boy do we have some work for you!

·         Roy Gitonga and Victor Ndalo: For the car and for the drivers when we needed them, leaving all they were doing to assist!

·         93.3 Hope Fm: Wageni Wambaa, and Milly Oluoko… What! Words fail us. May God enlarge your territories beyond what he has done so far. May he bless you and your teams like never before!

·         Mavuno Church, Hope Centre Church and All Saints Cathedral: For giving us a hope and a place to operate from when we were without anything. Especially for the staff collecting and coordinating the items and storing for us when we were no around!

·         Biz-Hub and IHub: The offices we invaded and made them ours by force. Your patience and understanding is like wow!

·         Our families and friends: For giving up the clothes and shoes they love for us! God bless you all!
It will be impossible to mention everyone but we hope this, in a way, shows how grateful we are to you. Arwa... Ni wewe tuu!

Yet above all and in all, we want to thank God from the bottom of our hearts, and with everything we have and everything we are, for the Vision, The Burden and the resources and support he aligned with this work.

Our Prayer:

Every Fabric, Every Sole, Every Cloth donated, may reflect the faith, the hope and the love that God has so lavished on us that we have to bless others with the same too.

May you all have a prosperous 2011!

145 FAMILIES TO RECEIVE FROM HOPE FM AND HANGER PROJECT

The other day, Hope FM, in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity announced that they were working together to help build homes for the Internally Displaced Persons. The IDPs were forced out of their homes after the disputed December 29, 2007 general elections and have been sleeping in tents all along.

Habitat for Humanity is a Christian Non-Governmental organization seeking to provide decent, and durable housing for over 145 families still living in tents within the Mai Mahiu IDP camp. Join them in helping these families regain hope for the future by donating towards building decent homes for them. www.hfhkenya.or.ke

Hope FM, the single leading Christian content media entity has been instrumental in the publicity for The Hanger Project, providing airtime over KES 500,000 worth. They further allowed the Hope FM studios to be collection points for the project.www.hopefm.org

It was our intention, as The Hanger Project to support and meet the IDP families. We are therefore excited to announce that The Hanger Project will provide a wardrobe full of clothes for tembers of the 145 Families who will be getting new houses from the Hope FM partnership with Habitat for Humanity.

Thank you everyone who has supported.

God Bless You!

THE DEADLINE

This Saturday, December 11, 2010, marks the deadline of The Hanger Project individuals’ collection. The clothes will start their therapy from next week on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Are your clothes and donations in?

We are still willing and are able to collect the clothes from you, if you tell us where you are. You can carry them to town, and we will pick them, or you can still rush them to our drop off points. If it’s a challenge, please let us know. Our teams are up and ready to collect them at your time and place convenience.

Kindly tell us where you are and we will get back at you!

Thank you once again!

ARE YOU THE ONE WE ARE LOOKING FOR???

With just a little under 2 weeks remaining before we start the Clothes Therapy, we ask, are you the one we are looking for? We need someone to help us coordinate donations and lead a team of volunteers for the task ahead! This will include the cleaning and distribution teams. The big task would be the internationally acclaimed yet locally created, World Ironing Day! This will be on the Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Beacon of Hope Centre in Rongai! If you want to be that person, mail us on info@thehangerproject.or.ke

A HARD TEN DAYS

It’s been long since I last blogged on The Hanger Project. 10 days to be exact. And with regards to the project, this has been the hardest time of if any! It can’t get any worse. We got tired; we got fatigue, demoralized, challenged and even shut doors on.

Yet even in this time, we have experienced grace and mercy from people we didn’t know and those who were just out to help for helping sake! One such entity was Kweli Mag. They posted the website on their wall and we got great responses. Others included Nation Media’s Peter Kibe and Debarl Inea who provided us with an opportunity to be on national TV in the program NTV This Morning. It provided us with an excellent opportunity to be part of that days wider news agenda.

We also got help from Koa Jagero with Poetry Spot who were gracious enough to host an evening of poetry on our behalf at All Saints Cathedral this coming Saturday, 4th December, 2010. Below is the events Poster! If you have time please attend and support!

Please spread the word with us!

And then we had an amazing weekend of carrying boxes and from Saturday, through to Monday and delivering them to our holding venue in Rongai!

Yet, we still need help… lots of Help! We need the donations to come through! Please tell us where to collect the stuff!

Regards,
Pau
